Senior guard Ashley Davis joined classmate Simone Egwu in the 1,000-point club with a 3-pointer in the first quarter during Arundel's 50-43 victory over Henry A. Wise in the fifth-place game of the IAABO Tournament yesterday.

Davis, entering play with 997 points, connected on four 3-pointers, including two in the first quarter to eclipse the plateau. She also had four assists.

Sheronne Vails collected 11 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks and four steals, and Ebone' Jones added seven points, seven steals and five rebounds in Arundel's fifth-place finish.

ANNAPOLIS 51, FRANKLIN (Pa.) 46: Junior Kamyiah Surgeon led the Panthers with 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals to rally in the fourth quarter and defeat the Panthers from Pennsylvania in the Capital City Classic semifinal.

Annapolis will square off against Joppatowne in today's championship.

Freshman Kelly Rinard scored eight points and had five rebounds in the win.

Southern 56, Gwynn Park 35: Jasmine Wills scored a game-high 20 points and Raquell Jones added 16 to end the Bulldogs' run in the Holiday Hoops Classic with a victory.

Southern built a 12-point lead in the first quarter and padded it to 17 at the half to cruise to the win.

Felicia Jones scored eight points for the Bulldogs.

Freshman Iesha Butler added 15 points, four assists and five steals for Northeast, which will play Chesapeake at 4 p.m. today in the tournament championship.

Senior guard Kate McGahagan scored 19 points.

MEADE 58, MOUNT DE SALES 47: Junior forward Nicole Dixon scored 10 points and snagged 21 rebounds to lead the Mustangs to a win in the Mount Hebron Tournament semifinals yesterday.

Junior Alissa Chambliss posted 18 points, three rebounds and three assists for Meade.

Senior guard Crystal Thomas added 11 points in the win.

Hug and Payne combined for 14 steals to energize Severn's defense.
